In the summer my dad and I went on a backpacking trip. My feet hurt me the whole time. After we got back from the trip we went to the doctors' office and got referred to an orthopedic doctor. I had an MRI done on both feet. We came back and talked to a surgeon.
My problem was that there was a muscle in the back of my leg that was too tight, making it uncomfortable to walk. So my bones shifted to make it comfortable. This is what my foot looked like before surgery:
In the surgery they cut open a bone and inserted a wedge. Then they put screws through it to hold it in place. This is what my foot looked like 6 weeks after the surgery:
I've been on crutches for 6 weeks, and still have to be on crutches for another 4 weeks. Then 2 weeks after that I get to walk on both feet. Then I get surgery on my other foot.
